Geographical Location

玻利維亞是南美洲的內陸國家,為南美洲國家聯盟的會員國,鄰國有巴西、祕魯、智利、阿根廷及巴拉圭。

玻利維亞屬於地勢西高東低的國家,東北部為平原,領土大約三分之二位於熱帶和亞熱帶低緯度地區。

Bolivia is a landlocked country in South America and a member state of the Union of South American Nations. It is surrounded by Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Paraguay.

The geography for the west part is steep, and in the eastern region, low. The northern and eastern parts of Bolivia are plains and around two thirds of the land enjoy a tropical and subtropical climate.

人口與民族

Population and Ethnic

目前有約1,188萬人口,主要民族為印地安原住民及麥士蒂索人(Mestizo),歐洲人與美洲原住民混血的拉丁民族。官方語言為西班牙語及原住民語言如克丘亞語等。

The population of Bolivia is about 11,880,000. The main ethnic groups are indigenous people and mestizo, a Latin nation of mixed European and Indian descent. The official languages are Spanish and indigenous languages such as Quichwa shimi, etc.

文化特色

Cultural Features

玻里維亞文化深受艾馬拉、克亞丘及拉丁美洲文化的影響,如當代民謠音樂、舞蹈及服飾等。玻利維亞的舞蹈以Caporales最為著名,是傳統的安達斯舞蹈。

玻利維亞的女性大多穿傳統衣裙(如長裙、蛋糕裙)、圓頂映禮帽及披肩等。

The culture of Bolivia is strongly influenced by Aymar, Quichwa and Latin American culture, such as contemporary folk music, dance and clothes. Caporales is a famous Bolivian dance, a traditional Andean dance. Most women in Bolivia wear traditional outfits (such as long skirts or over-layered skirts), bowler hats and shawls.

美食特色

Features of Food

玻利維亞飲食主要結合西班牙食物、艾馬拉食物及印加食物,主食為馬鈴薯及穀物如藜麥、大麥等。特色食物如Sajta de Pollo(用雞肉、馬鈴薯、洋蔥及番茄製作的湯)及Chicharron de llama(馬鈴薯煮羊駝肉及玉米或是米飯)等。

The Bolivian diet combines Spanish food, Aymar food, and Inca food. The traditional staples of Bolivian cuisine are potatoes and grains, such as quinoa and barley. The characteristic cuisines are Sajta de Pollo (a type of soup made of chicken, potatoes, onions and tomatoes) and Chicharron de llama (prepared with potatoes, llama meat and corn or rice).
