地理位置

Geographical Location

法國本土面積約551,500平方公里(包括海外省分共為643,801平方公里),佔全歐盟總面積約五分之一,為西歐地區幅員最大之國家,領海廣闊,專屬海洋經濟區達1千1百萬平方公里。法國地理條件良好,平原約佔全國總面積三分之二,主要山脈有阿爾卑斯山脈—最高峰白朗峰海拔4,807公尺,為歐洲第一高峰,國土四面臨海,濱鄰北海、英吉利海峽、大西洋及地中海,海岸線長達3,427公里。

France has a total size of 551,500 km2 (Including overseas regions is 643, 801 km), which occupies one-fifth of the European Union’s total land area and is the largest country in Western Europe. France has the largest territorial waters and the Exclusive Economic Zone Area is up to 11,000,000 km2. France has excellent geography,  consisting of mostly flat plains, which account for two-thirds of the total area, and the Alps—Europe’s tallest peak, Mont Blanc (4,807 meters) is found here. France is surrounded by sea, bounded by the North Sea, English Channel, Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The total length of the continental French coastline is 3,427 km.

法國含海外屬地總人口約有6,740萬人,本土人口約有6,523萬人,官方語言為法語。居民最多之前五大都市依序為巴黎、馬賽、里昂、土魯斯及尼斯。

The total population of France including the population of overseas territories is around 67,400,000. 65,230,000 people live in metropolitan France. The official language is French. The five most populated cities in France are Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse and Nice.

Cultural Features

法國是一個充滿文化、藝術的國家,而在法國文化中,他們的文學電影、音樂、繪畫建築及時尚潮流等都相當具有代表性。法國一直都是歐洲乃至全世界的文化中心之一。

France has long been regarded as a country of high culture and art. France is always known for its literature, movies, music, architecture and fashion. France is the center of culture in Europe and even in the world.

美食特色

Features of Food

法國料理因區域有所不同,南部和北部多使用橄欖油禽鳥肉(雞鴨鵝),南部和西部沿海多使用魚類貝類,北部和東部則多用家畜醃製食品。葡萄酒、起司及麵包為主要食物及飲品。法國著名的代表性食物有葡萄酒、起司、法式洋蔥湯、長棍麵包、鹹派、燉雞及法式蝸牛等。

French cuisine varies by region. The focus of Southern and Northern cuisine is olive oil and poultry (chicken, duck and goose meat) and the cuisine in the coastal regions uses fish and shellfish. The ingredients in the Northern and Eastern cuisine are meat and preserved food. Wine, cheese and bread are the staple food and drink. Traditional French foods are wine, cheese, French onion soup, baguettes, quiche, coq au vin, Escargots, etc.
