瓜地馬拉位於中美洲北部，西北接墨西哥，東臨貝里斯及濱加勒比海，東南與宏都拉斯及薩爾瓦多接壤，南臨太平洋。瓜地馬拉多山，有沙漠及沙丘，為熱帶型氣候。
Located in the north of Central America, Guatemala is bounded to the north and west by Mexico, to the east by Belize and Caribbean Sea, to the southeast by Honduras and El Salvador, and to the south by the Pacific Ocean. Guatemala has a tropical climate and is a country of mountains, desert, and dune.

瓜地馬拉人口數約1,008萬人，為中南美洲最多人口數的國家43%的人口是當地馬雅人的後裔。在加勒比海岸也有非洲人的後裔。西班牙語是官方語言，但一些當地人依然說不同的馬雅語言。
With a population of around 10,080,000, Guatemala is the most populous country in Central America. In Guatemala, Maya descent comprises around 43% of the population. Afro-Guatemalans are found in Caribbean coast. Spanish is official language, but some people still speak different Mayan languages.

瓜地馬拉的主食為豆類、玉蜀黍及辣椒；大香蕉(Plantains)亦為另一種選擇，當地人常將它以奶油炸成脆片沾焦糖吃，當地特色食物多以番茄燉菜、牛肚料理等。瓜地馬拉的墨西哥小吃也相當有名如墨西哥粽等。
The staple foods of Guatemala are beans, corn, and chili. Plantains are another choice. The local usually fries plantains and served them with caramel. The local cuisines are Estofado, tripe dish and so on. Mexican snack food is quite popular in Guatemala, like Mexican dumplings.
